Spirit of Mt. Vernon

The hubby and I signed up for a LivingSocial account when we got here to DC and we have been very grateful for it.  It is kind of like Groupon with new daily deals on events or restaurants in the area.  Daniel found this one for us and we are very grateful to him for passing it along. It was a "cruise" down the Potomac River with entry to George Washington's historic home! The Noyce's were going to make the drive to stay at our house and come with us, but the weather decided the turn horrible hours before leaving.  They ended up not being able to come, and passed along their vouchers to anyone that would take them.  This is how we met Ben and Sienna, and we are very glad we did.
On the "Spirit of Mt. Vernon" boat heading down the river
Hello Mr. President! His private helicopter flew right over us while we were on the boat.  It was followed by another one for safety reasons.
George Washington's way of transportation!
Waiting for the tour to keep moving--out on his back patio!
Sienna and me strikin' a pose!
The view from the backyard was incredible with the river!
Mt.Vernon
His gardens were immaculate
At the tomb of George Washington and his wife
His 16 sided barn--way cool!
This picture was taken as we were boarding the boat.  At the end of the tour, they had all the pictures posted on a wall for purchase.  We decided to take a picture of our picture because, of course, they are always outrageously priced.
We were bummed that the Noyce's couldn't make it, but were glad we got to meet the Webers. They are a very fun couple, and live so close to us.  We had a great time!
